To become a Raisin customer and order savings accounts through the platform, you must first open a Raisin Account online.
- Step 1: Download the Raisin app or click 'Register' on the website.
- Step 2: Fill out the online registration form. Standard details required under EU banking regulation include your date of birth, PPS number, and address with Eircode. Enter your mobile number using a country code prefix, such as 00353870000000 or +353870000000.
- Step 3: Complete the identity verification process. On the app, you can choose self-identification handled by provider Fourthline. This requires taking a photo of your passport, recording a video selfie, signing digitally with an SMS code, and sending a €0.10 verification transfer from your main bank account, which is refunded within a few days. Alternatively, you can complete a short video call on a computer with an agent through provider IDnow using your passport.
- Step 4: Provide a proof of address document issued within the last three months. Accepted options include an electricity, gas or water bill, a bank statement, or an official document issued by a government authority.
Once these steps are complete, your application will be reviewed and you'll be contacted if further information is required. It can take up to three working days for your Raisin Account to become active after completing identity verification. Further helpful details are available in the Raisin Explainer videos.
