When you make a bank transfer to your Raisin Account, your bank may show a “name doesn’t match” or similar warning. This is a standard message generated by your bank’s Verification of Payee checks and does not necessarily mean there is a problem with your transfer.
Even small differences, such as typos, missing names, or abbreviations, can trigger this message.
What you should always check
Make sure the IBAN you entered is correct.
If the IBAN is correct, you can still go ahead with the transfer, even if your bank shows a name-mismatch warning.
What counts as a full match
To avoid warnings, the account holder name should:
Be your own name (not Raisin or Raisin Bank).
Match exactly the name shown on your passport or what's shown on your Raisin Account.
Include all first names, if you have more than one.
Examples of a partial match
Your bank may flag a partial match if:
Only one of multiple first names or surnames is shown.
Initials are used instead of full first names (e.g. J. Bloggs instead of Joe Bloggs).
“Raisin” or “Raisin Bank” is added to your name (e.g. Joe Bloggs Raisin).
Examples of no match
Your bank is likely to show a stronger warning if:
“Raisin”, “Raisin Bank, or a bank name is entered instead of your own name.
Your name is combined with “Raisin” or “Raisin Bank” as the account holder (e.g. Murphy Raisin).
If you are unsure, please double-check the IBAN and your own name. If both are correct, you can proceed with the transfer as normal.
