Device fingerprinting captures technical details about your device, such as browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and installed fonts, to generate a unique device ID during login.
We collect these characteristics in the background to recognise new or known devices, assess login risks, and decide whether extra security steps are needed. Confirming your identity with a verification code during login marks that device as trusted.
You can view your known devices in your account by logging in, selecting your initials in the top right corner, and opening the "Login and Security" section.
Advantages:
Detects logins from unknown or suspicious devices to prevent account takeovers.
Meets European PSD2 regulatory requirements for strong customer authentication.
Supports risk-based authentication while keeping everyday logins simple.
Data protection and processing:
Fingerprints contain no personally identifiable information.
Data is processed exclusively through your browser using hashed, anonymised details.
All processing complies fully with GDPR requirements.
Please note that any displayed login location relies on your IP address at the time of login rather than your exact physical position. While this is standard practice, IP-based location tracking isn't always completely precise.
